Our company has traditional 401K plans integrated with payroll, and is now considering setting up additional Roth 401K plans as well. Our benefits administrator tells us that it is allowable for an employee to be enrolled in both a traditional 401K and a Roth 401K concurrently. For each traditional 401K plan we will be setting up a Roth 401K plan with the same employer match configuration. Has anyone done this already? If so, how did you prevent the employee from getting double the maximum employer match during payroll?
