Does anyone have a good solution for printing inventory label from SAP Business One 2005? We would like the item number, description and maybe a bar code printed out for one or more items on adheasive labels. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
We had to create a custom AddOn to get the bar coding, etc on our packing slips and shipping labels.
Can you elaborate on why you needed and addon to accomplish this?
We have done this for two customers using Business One, netiehr of which required an addon.
Both of this customers use standard label printers.
Yes, since we have more than 160,000 business partners and with alot of them having more than 700 ship-to locations, we decided to use the "master customer number" field and "consolidating bp" field to link the customers. when we would process our documents--packing slip, invoice etc. though the SBO engine, the correct billing and item, shipping barcodes would not appear.
Very high numbers for ship to's. you must do business with some big box retailers to have those sort's of numbers?
Do you make any use of EDI?
We do business with all the big retailers. Two months ago you responded to my request about Praxis. I am now looking at that software to be the EDI interface. One of the networks we use is ARIBA.
If oyu are interested I would recommend True Commerce for EDI.
They have a very nice solution that I have implemented for two customers.
Ask to see their Business One Specific Demo.
I contacted True Commerce and they are looking into a solution.
I am interested in printing labels for our inventory bins using a standard label printer. Sounds like you have done this. Can you let me know how we can get this application to work with SAP BO. We want to print item numbers, descriptions and maybe barcodes !
I work with carl Lewis whom posted some of the repsones to your first question. We recently implemented a solution for a client requiring something very similar.
The client needed to print Item Labels and Bin labels, roughly 1" by 2", for items upon receipt into Inventory.
We decided to create a query that looks at the Goods Receipt PO tables and returns one line per item quantity. We then created a query print layout with the dimensions requested. They run the query and then print the results.
The query pulls in the Item Code, Item Description, Barcode, and a UDF the client uses for Item Type.
It prints great on a standard Zebra label printer commonly used for printing shipping labels from UPS and FedEx apps.
I hope that gives you an idea of what is possible.

Sounds like you have done what I am trying to do. Can you explain how to "create a query print layout with the dimensions requested". I am not familiar with this.
