Supply Chain Management Community Overview/Subspaces

Version 2

Supply Chain Management encompasses multiple, integrated processes that begin with the planning to provide goods or services to a customer, continue through the manufacturing or provisional processes including storing, tracking and maintaining the raw materials, parts, semi-finished materials and finished goods then delivering the goods or service to the customer while adhering to domestic and global regulations and providing required documentation.

Supply Chain processes can be solely internal to a company or can cross companies.  In today’s global and integrated economy, a portion of a company’s supply chain processes could be outsourced to another company.  External partners could be treated as an internal function with complete or partial collaboration between the companies.
