    ________________________________________________________________
Q: can we store transection related  documents like contracts, PO, Sales order in SM ?
    A. Solution Manager is not the place to store actual documents, it's a place to store documents that outline how you've implemented component systems - so your business process procedures, configuration documents, functional and technical specs, job documentation, etc.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: Please explain about IBIS content.. is it a seperate license? available to download?
    A. IBIS Supplementary Services are separate services that are available to further reverse-engineer usage statistics from your SAP systems - including customizing usage, development usage, efficiency metrics on how well processes are running in your systems, users and roles usage statistics, etc.  Please use this link for more information:
    ________________________________________________________________
    Q: note number again?
    A. 1591505
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: We have ARIS (incl. ARIS Test Designer for sap), SolMan and HP Quality Center. Which sould be the leading system?
    A. If possible, try to leverage the SAP Standard processes delivered in the SAP Business Process Repository in Solution Manager as much as possible.  This will allow you to move forward with content as it is delivered by SAP.  ARIS can model those processes to a more granular level, and you will need to define which 3 levels (Scenario, Process, Process Step) you integrate back to the Solution Manager Business Blueprint.  Integration to HP QC is then also available for validation and automated testing - but the Business Blueprint structure in Solution Manager should be the primary model and structure.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: Can a R/3 4.7 system be analyzed using automatic RBPD in 7.1? Any issues to watch out?
    A. Yes, a 4.7 system can be anayzed using automatic RBPD - however, the processes that will be modeled are going to be based upon ERP processes.  Meaning, the business processes documented by RBPD are based on an ERP platform.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: Is SM has its own database ?
    A. Solution Manager has its own database, and also a Knowledge Warehouse database.  The Knowledge Warehouse can be available in Solution Manager or can be defined as an external database.  CRM and BW are also leveraged by Solution Manager for Incident Management and Operational statistics, respectively.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: can i get information on using Solman for RUNSAP for operations?
    A. Please access this on the Service Marketplace - here is a link: https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/support
Click on SAP Solution Manager, then Run SAP like a Factory
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: What opportunities does SM 7.1 offer when it comes to defect tracking during testing?
    A. If you use the Implementation/Upgrade process and a Project for your initiative, then the Test Cases tab and the Service Messages tab are aligned to the process that your validating.  Service Messages can be integrated to Service Desk/Incident Management.
Access the Service Marketplace - https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/support, click on SAP Solution Manager, then Application Lifecycle Management for more information on Test Management and Incident Management.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: What is the typical SOL MAN implementation timeline if one wishes to leverage the major features
    A. You can use the SAP Short Assessment to determine your timeline based upon the functionality you want to implement
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: HPQC can be integrated with SOL MAN. What are the disadvantages of having HPQC implemented independently
    A. One disadvantage is the disconnect between your documented business processes in the Business Blueprint and the definition for validation purposes in HPQC - so you would then need to manually reconcile what has been validated and what hasn't, as well as issue status.
    ________________________________________________________________
Q: RBPD only gets data from ECC right now, when will other SAP solutions be available?
    A. SAP plans content releases for RBPD every 6 months or so.  At this time, there is content being developed to analyze some of the CRM scenarios.  IBIS can offer reverse-engineering services for component systems if RBPD content is not available.
