SAP Leadership Change - ASUG CEO Announcement

Version 2

As many of you might have read in SAP’s announcement on February 12, John Schwarz has resigned from the company. During his tenure at SAP, John was a passionate supporter of ASUG’s efforts to create value for the SAP BusinessObjects community and we thank him for his contributions to our success.

We want to take this opportunity to affirm to you that his departure does not in any way impact our focus on or support for the BusinessObjects customer base. As we noted in our own media release last week, we’ve created a BusinessObjects Director position on the ASUG Board to ensure the needs of this community continue to be met from an educational, networking, and Influence perspective.

We’ve also launched an ASUG Ambassador program that includes outreach and education initiatives to cultivate a better understanding of the SAP ecosystem and the community resources available to all SAP customers.  The program will be kicked off at the April 16th ASUG North Texas Chapter meeting in Dallas, where Ambassadors will participate in discussions with SAP BusinessObjects customers and ASUG members to help foster tighter connections across the communities. You will see a more formal announcement about that program next week.

Additionally, we are getting close to launching our Call for Speakers for the BusinessObjects User Conference taking place in Orlando, October 4 – 7, and have been working closely with SAP BusinessObjects customers to create a charter that will ensure, on a global scale, they have not only visibility into the roadmap, but the appropriate Influence channels as well.

These are a few examples of just how top of mind the legacy Business Objects customers are here at ASUG and we look forward to collaborating with SAP’s new leadership team to ensure your voices continue to be represented at the highest levels within the company. We have worked closely with the new Co-CEOs Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe over the years and we believe their collective focus on customer success and product innovation is a powerful combination that bodes well for customers around the world.

    Best Regards,

    Bridgette Chambers
